Buttercream Skirt
I call my latest project my "buttercream skirt" not just because of its delicious yellow color, but also because of the trim. It's like a cake in a skirt!
This pattern is Simplicity 1917, one of the company's new spring sewing patterns. Construction was very simple; the skirt has a basic row of pleats in the front and back, and a curved waistband with ribbon bow and trim (view B). My only complaint is that this pattern seems to run quite large. I generally sew a size 14 for garments with a fitted waist, but I could have made a 12 or 10 with this pattern. Seamstresses, beware! Otherwise, an excellent all-purpose skirt and a very useful pattern to have in your stash.
